Built With My Own Hands
Why I Build
I can't always find what I picture in my head in a store. So I build it myself. Every piece starts with an idea I can't shake and ends with something that fits my home exactly right.
The Learning Curve
Carpentry didn't come naturally to me. I learned by doing, and I got a lot wrong before I got anything right. Every mistake taught me something I couldn't have learned any other way.
Messing Up and Starting Over
I've ruined boards, misjudged cuts, and started projects over more times than I can count. That's part of the process. I don't throw in the towel. I go back to the wood and try again.
Finding the Right Fit
A store-bought piece fits a general space. A handbuilt piece fits my space. I measure, adjust, and rework until the piece does exactly what I need it to do in my home.
The Payoff
When a piece finally comes together the way I imagined it, that feeling makes every failed attempt worth it. That's why I keep building. Unique pieces made by hand, made to fit a life no template could match.
Every piece I build starts with a need I couldn't fill any other way, and I share the whole process here, the measurements, the mistakes, and the finished piece. Follow along to see how I turn an idea into something real, built by hand and made to fit my home exactly right.
